About Sama

Sama is a yoga/meditation teacher, therapist, and the founder of bhuti, an eco wellbeing escape in Richmond, London. ‘bhuti’ was founded in 2016 to offer a place to find your ‘inner bhuti’ through connection: with others, with yourself, and through yoga/fitness, therapies, and courses. bhuti is now located in the gardens of Bingham Riverhouse, overlooking the Thames, offering yoga, meditation, Pilates, and fitness classes, as well as workshops and activities for mind, body, and soul to flourish.

At the end of 2020, Sama launched the members club at Bingham Riverhouse, her family business she has run since she was 21, to offer a second home for people to socialize, work, and evolve. The concept of the club was inspired by the changing needs of the community during the pandemic, with hybrid working environments as the new normal, and a desire for more balance. The membership offers inspiring workspace, exciting monthly events, and opportunities to connect both socially and professionally.

Stress caused Sam to find solace in yoga and meditation, and following family and personal history of ill-health, including addiction, she re-trained to be a yoga teacher/therapist. Driven by the desire to share the life-changing (life-saving even) benefits of yoga, through its many practices for mind, body, and spirit, she created a space that is a sanctuary and antidote to the modern western lifestyle, known to often be the cause for the increase in stress-related diseases and mental health conditions.

“I was the shy, anxious fat kid at school, who couldn’t even do a forward roll, let alone a handstand, and definitely not sing. When my dad died suddenly when I was 12, it was as though the lights went out. We all have periods in our lives when suffering seems insurmountable – how we get through it or not fascinates me, and I want to help people find the light when surrounded by darkness.” - Samantha

Sam teaches group classes, including slow mindful vinyasa flows accompanied by a soothing/uplifting soundtrack, Iyengar inspired or therapeutic (restorative/yin/nidra classes), always trying to make it fun and accessible. She also leads Kirtan (chanting), meditation, and sound healing.
