Saturday 30th November - 2.00-4.00pm
Learn how to get the most benefits from postures which are the foundation for all levels of a Vinyasa practice, and how these poses translate into more intermediate versions and/or modifications appropriate for your body.
From ‘basic’ standing poses to balancing ones (including a few arm balances), this workshop will help you to feel more present in your yoga practice, as you understand the bio-dynamics of each asana, whilst also embracing the fundamental elements of breath, bandhas (energy locks in the subtle body) and drishti (gaze points).
- Optimal alignment for free flowing circulation and range of motion;
- How to be aware of patterns which could lead to discomfort or even injuries;
- Applying alignment tools and use of props in order to transition more gracefully and with more awareness as you move in and out of postures.
With 16 years of experience as a yoga practitioner and more recently as a yoga teacher, Isabel's background is based mostly on the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga system taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and on Bryan Kest’s Power Yoga. She teaches a Dynamic Flow Yoga class focusing on movement of the body in harmony with the breath (Vinyasa krama). Isabel can be found teaching at bhuti Wednesday - Saturday.
