Bowen therapy is a gentle but profound complementary holistic therapy. It targets certain points on the body (similar to acupressure points) with gentle rolling movements to help realign body’s connective tissue (fascia) and free up restrictions affecting the nervous system. As a result of treatments, clients are believed to experience energy recovery, a reduction in pain and an improvement of mobility, symmetry and function. Most people come to Bowen to address body pain, stiffness or lack of energy. however, it can be used for breathing difficulties such as asthma, digestive issues, stress and anxiety. Bowen sessions are profoundly relaxing and restorative.
Myofascial release (Muscle-Fascia-Release) is a form of soft tissue therapy intended for pain relief, increasing range of motion and balancing the body. Techniques include manual stretching and releasing of the fascia, rebounding (rocking) and unwinding (movement fascilitation). The fascia is a seamless web of connective tissue that covers and connects the muscles, organs, nerves, blood vessels, lymph vessels and skeletal structures. Injuries, stress, physical or emotional trauma and poor posture can cause restriction to fascia. Stuck and hardened fascia often leads to exhaustion, undiagnosed pain or immune system dysfunctions. The goal of myofascial release is to release fascial restriction and restore tissue to healthy function.MFR is especially effective in providing release from pain and fatigue caused by physical trauma and other trauma such as: neck and back pain, headaches, migraines, jaw pain, frozen shoulder, stress related muscular tension, scar tissue and other adhesions, emotional stress and chronic fatigue syndrome.
