Community Hatha Yoga

This class is taught by:

Loren Jenkins

I found and tried yoga in my twenties, a time that I was more interested in partying, martial arts and making money. My thirties saw me with many ongoing commercial concerns, travelling the world and trying to juggle this with a young family. When life went into reverse, I hit rock bottom losing everything. Little did I know at the time, that this was to be a blessing in disguise.

Looking to find balance I tried yoga again, as this time it found me. In my forties, my interest grew as I started to understand how the way of yoga could help me physically, emotionally and spiritually to deal with life's little and big 'opportunities' to learn and grow.‎

I am grateful to Samantha Trinder for her encouragement to follow the teaching path, I am humbled that Gordon Lee Silence continues to guide me, and I am pleased to train with YogaCampus and their many renowned teachers.

I love to explore all aspects of yoga, have a leaning toward the style of Mr. B.K.S Iyengar, and as my fifties unfold, have a deepening interest in the historical, philosophical and inward riches yoga provides.

I believe the way of yoga can benefit all, has the potential to bring balance to individuals and communities alike. With practise and moving through the journey of the subtle body, yoga can pave the way for all of us to enjoy what life has to offer, to the full.

I look forward to sharing what I am learning so that you can enjoy your own abundance in a balanced and healthy way.

It has been my long-held dream to create a community space that enables people discover their inner 'bhuti' and I created bhuti to spread the transformational benefits of yoga.

I teach mindful hatha yoga suitable for all levels which can be more dynamic or  restorative depending who shows up.  I teach 1-2-1s and offer Yoga Therapy.

My first enquiry into yoga was at university in the 90s, began regular practice after the birth of my son with teachers from different yoga traditions including Iyengar, Sivananda, Vinayasa and Ashtanga.

I never thought I could become a yoga teacher as I had been a chubby, un-sporty child, unable to do a forward roll let alone stand on my head, a failure at ballet, and always suffering from a restless, anxious mind. I have since learnt that our only limits are those we impose on ourselves and the practice of yoga helps us overcome these limiting beliefs, and fulfil our potential in every area of life. I firmly believe yoga ((meaning 'union')) is for everyone  is for everyone, and never more needed than now.

I am a 500hr International Yoga Alliance accredited teacher, trained by Conrad Paul (Sivananda), Ruth White (Iyengar) and have completed a 500 hr Yoga Therapy Diploma with Yoga Campus . I have also trained with master teachers Max Strom, Richard Freeman, Rod Stryker, Donna Farhi, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli. I am an eternal student, learning as much from my students as my teachers, it is a joyful journey.

This is a hatha flow class, suitable for all abilities.  The proceeds from this class go the the bhuti foundation between £3 and £5, or more depending on what you can afford.  The bhuti foundation gives money to charities that offer wellbeing services to those who otherwise could not afford it.
