Power Flow

This class is taught by:

Sama Trinder

It has been my long-held dream to create a community space that enables people discover their inner 'bhuti' and I created bhuti to spread the transformational benefits of yoga.

I teach mindful hatha yoga suitable for all levels which can be more dynamic or  restorative depending who shows up.  I teach 1-2-1s and offer Yoga Therapy.

My first enquiry into yoga was at university in the 90s, began regular practice after the birth of my son with teachers from different yoga traditions including Iyengar, Sivananda, Vinayasa and Ashtanga.

I never thought I could become a yoga teacher as I had been a chubby, un-sporty child, unable to do a forward roll let alone stand on my head, a failure at ballet, and always suffering from a restless, anxious mind. I have since learnt that our only limits are those we impose on ourselves and the practice of yoga helps us overcome these limiting beliefs, and fulfil our potential in every area of life. I firmly believe yoga ((meaning 'union')) is for everyone  is for everyone, and never more needed than now.

I am a 500hr International Yoga Alliance accredited teacher, trained by Conrad Paul (Sivananda), Ruth White (Iyengar) and have completed a 500 hr Yoga Therapy Diploma with Yoga Campus . I have also trained with master teachers Max Strom, Richard Freeman, Rod Stryker, Donna Farhi, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli. I am an eternal student, learning as much from my students as my teachers, it is a joyful journey.

Lisa Marlowe

Lisa Marlowe has been teaching yoga since 2009," I am passionate about sharing the gift of yoga. I want to help people balance their strength with flexibility, breath with movement and to find stillness in the monkey mind" Lisa teaches an inclusive accessible style with great attention to alignment and individual needs but always with a playful touch. She likes to 'stealthily' weave in just a little of the yogic philosophy without being intimidating and hopes to inspire her students to live the life they love on and off the mat. Oh and her playlists are always available by popular demand on spotify!

Lisa teaches an energising power vinyasa as well as restorative gentle flow.

Lisa is grateful to her teachers including, Tara Stiles , Tiffany Cruickshank, Kathryn Budig, Jason Crandell, Baron Baptiste and Shiva Rea. She is committed to on- going study because the best teachers are forever students!

Lisa is also a holistic nutrition health coach ( Institute of Integrative Nutrition NYC), and will be offering yoga for sleep therapy soon. She has taught in Monaco, Seattle NYC and London, and comes from a background in the performing arts. Having lived in the USA until 4 years ago she now lives in Richmond and is delighted to be teaching at Bhuti to the local community.

Isabel Viegas Groves

With 16 years of experience as a yoga practitioner and lately as a yoga teacher, my background is based mostly on the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga system taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and on Bryan Kest’s Power Yoga. I teach a Dynamic Flow Yoga class focusing on movement of the body in harmony with the breath (Vinyasa krama). My classes are set to music, with variations given to suit all levels. I encourage my students to move with grace and lightness, emphasizing a yoga krama approach throughout the practice. Students of mixed abilities move through sequences and take progressive higher options in their asana as their abilities and needs suit them. A focus on the mind-body connection is given to calm student’s minds and achieve a sense of greater balance and well-being throughout their practice.
